Default TieRods and Control Arms

So ive been getting some shaking from about 50-60mph in my 99 a6 2.8 quattro. Got my oil changed today and had an inspection, and they said my tie rod ends were loose. I had someone else tell me recently, that the tie rod ends were loose and one of my ball joints was bad. After doing some searching on here, Ive found a full set of control arms, and tie rod ends on purems. My question is, is it worth it to just go ahead and do control arms and tie rod ends while im in there anyway?

Just hoping for some opinions. My thought, was that if I had a bad ball joint too, I might as well get the full FebiBilstein kit and just spend the $500 and not have to worry about it, seeing as that would pretty much take care of all of it. Any personal experience or knowledge is greatly appreciated!

I went with the full Febi 12pc kit 3 years ago and haven't had any problem during those 60,000+ miles. *knocks on wood grain*

got mine from PureMS also =)

The febi kit is as good as factory, on the other hand do not get the heavy duty kit you will see for around $250. You'll only get around 25,000 miles out of it...

What parts did you end up using for for control arms? I had a shop change the 4 control arms on the driver's side, now the passenger side is making noise. I wanted to see how much the parts would cost and can I change the control arms myself in my driveway?

well i bought the febi kit, which comes with all new control arms.. all 8 of them, new tie rod ends, both swaybar links, and all the nuts and bolts... every piece went on the car. the full kit was $500 although, purems.com does sell individual pieces if you arent in need of a full kit.

I wasnt there when they were installed, my stepdad and uncle did it on my uncles lift while I was at work. From what Ive heard, it can be a pain if you dont have a lift, but its doable. Maybe someone else here whose done it the driveway method can shine some light as to how difficult it was.
