Timing Belt/Chain - When Due?
you don't say what engine size but that's for the 2.8, this time interval was introduced by many dealers due to failure and used as a safety factor or a dealer rip off but was sorted by Gates who make the belts and tensioners, the dealers don't want you to know that because you think you need it done 3 times before the specified times so what a cash booster to Audi

I just called the stealer (dealer) and they said 75k miles and they want $1200???
OUCH!

Thats not too shabby, it was $1600 on my old Accord. Most German cars have lower recommended mileage for timing belt change. Most Porche are in the 30k range too.
According to the Audi Service Schedule it's 90k or 4 years (whichever comes first).
Save some money and read this www.12v.org/maintenance/repairs/tbelt.php
