Default Timing Chain or Belt???

A have couple of newb questions.
1) on 3.2L 06 A6, is there a timing belt or chain?
2) is ih due for replacement at 75k?
3) is the V-belt/serpentine belt due for replacement at 75k as well?
4) what is the avg cost for a timing belt/serpentine/water pump service?
5) how often do you change transmission fluid on this vehic;e and avg cost?
Thanks!

3.2 FSI is timing chain, not belt. So no replacement is needed. V-belt is usually good until 100K.

I can't comment on the water pump service, but as for the transmission fluid and filter change, a dealer the stealer will charge you somewhere in the $500 range. Indy tech will charge you around $250 to $300.

Thanks again hax. But one more newb question. Do all of the 05/06 (i think it's C6 models) have 3.2 or 4.2 "FSI" engines or are there other types of engines with a timing belt?

As far as I know, all C6 3.2 are FSIs with timing chains. I am not quiet sure about the 4.2s though.

The 4.2 in the C6 has a timing chain. The 4.2 did not go with FSI until 2007.

So all c6 models from 05 on up have chains that don't need replacement? Also are the 4.2l engines known to have problems like engine slum and oil leaks? Finally, reliability wise, is there any difference between the 4.2L & 4.2L FSI? Thanks for the info.
