Tiptronic question...ok,questions...
Should the transmission be hot or cold when level is checked? Engine running ? In neutral ?
Does the tranny have a learning curve ? Does it matter how you drive the car/will it shift any different ?
Is there any way to reset the computer like disconnecting the battery to make it shift better ? It still slips a little...I'm sure the tranny is on its way out....

RE: Tiptronic question...ok,questions...
You need to check it when the trans is worm.
The trans will learn but the only way it adapts is that it will hold the gears longer
You can recode the trans but if you want it to shift harder you need a tip chip

A possiblity may be your torque converter is bad. That causes slips and is common for Audis, but is less expensive than a new tranny. Are you getting a "CHECK ENGINE"? If so, check the code. That whats wrong with mine. The slipping isn't really bad yet though.

You check the trans fluid between 35 and 45 degress celcius for the trans fluid. Engine running. You need a scan tool to check the temperature of the fluid.
The tip not working could be avariety of things, but there will most likly be a fault in the transmission control module pointing to the fautly componant.
