How does the tip chip improve the transmission in a B5 S4 besides shifting faster?

Is there any down side to having the tip chip installed?

Also does it make it so you can have more horsepower and torque without messing up the tranny?

What is the best brand of tip chip?

No it doesn't make your tranny stronger. They say it raises the rail pressure in the valve body. I've never had one so I can't tell u how well they work. I don't know of any down side.

stronger would equal upgraded torque converter and valve body recalibration. check with sam at 517. for the chip i think vast has one and jhm.

Clutch packs can also slip when u have big tq in the taller gears.
