Default Tiptronic Transmission

Can someone tell me in layman's terms how to shift it? Can you do this while moving [going from auto to tip]?

I want to try it but am somewhat afraid I will kill my car...

I know it probably is really easy, I just need some reassurance from the experts...Thanks!

You can't really do anything wrong with it. It won't let you. If you rev to high without shifting it'll shift up for you and if you slow down too much in a gear it'll shift down for you. Yes you can shift in and out of tip mode at any time at any speed. Won't hurt the transmission. Just like a manual transmission at that point except it won't let you kill the engine and you gas mileage won't really change cause....lets face it....its still an automatic.

One thing I hate about the Tip is the auto-shifting into 2nd gear, even in "manual" mode.
I have the Vag-com cable and licensed software. Can someone post instructions on how to change that? Did a search and it returns zero... TIA!

Ya. For some reason mine doesn't do that. I think the previous owner had that feature removed. Now it waits until redline in every gear.

ORIGINAL: Baskin 4.2l

Go into the transmission section. Go to adaption and recode 000032(Idon't remember how many 0's there are but the whole Idea is to switch the lasttwo digits to 32) thiswill allow the car to hold 1st gear longer
Here are some other things you can do with vag-com
