Default Tires for 2001 2.7T

Hi all,

I've had a time of it with tires. When I bought this car on e-bay in 2004 it came with Continental's but they were pretty much shot. Stuck with Continental's but they wore so quickly.

Just browsing around now but what have people here heard about Barum Bravuris. They've got some mixed reviews. I need something that will last at least 50,000 miles. I commute to my work about 35 minutes away (mostly highway in central MI). I've got the 215/55R-16 size.

Any advise and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Happy Spring!

~ Neale

I wont mix words here because continental are remoulds of very high quality even porscha use them because of price, have your steering/tracking/balancing checked "when you get the tyres fitted

I have dunlop sp sport a2's on my 96 a6 avant. they are all seasons and so far am very satisfied. I to was looking at the continentals but the dunlops were on internet sale. I have them on my 98 Chevy Lumuna LTZ currently as well and ther are great.

have Dunlop sport A2, lasting very well. They are only OK in snow but great in rain.
you will always give up tire longevity for performance.

Which Continentals? I have a friend with an A6 2.8Q Avant with Continental ContiExtreme that has held up very well for him. I also have a 2.7t and it came with a new set of Toyo Proxes 4. I have 5k miles on them and they have been great so far both in the dry and the wet.

I agree with Misko about Dunlop Sport A2s. However, I found them to get really noisy after 10-12k miles.

I have Bridgestone RE720 on all 4 wheels 205/55/16W and have coverred 23,000 miles I reckon another 12,000 will be covered. They grip far better than my old continentals premium contacts which lasted only 25,000 miles
