Have a similar problem to one posted by Graham Watson 2009. My 2002 ALLROAD went into limp mode whilst on hols. When checked, shows error code 17100 (input turbine speed sensor speed/performance). After going into limp mode, if car is switched off for a while and then restarted it will run normally for sometimes 2/3 miles, sometimes 40 miles but then slips back into limp mode again. Anyone any suggestions what might be wrong? Thank you in anticipation.

Default ALLROAD in limp mode.

Since last I post I have had the limp mode problem resolved and corrected. It turned out to be the input/output sensor. The sensor (input) was faulty. However, changing the input didn't do the trick so I was told; the output also had to be changed because they are matched pair. The auto engineer who did the work wasn't aware of that (why would he be) until he had changed the sensor and put it all back together and tested it, so it all had to be taken apart again to then change the output. It then worked. Fortunately the engineer who investigated it and did the work really new his stuff; there are a lot of things that it could have been. I was very impressed with how thorough he was when he worked on my car. Although his business is almost 200 miles from where I live, I wouldn't hesitate to take my car to him again if it had a serious problem. Incidentally, both the engine mounts were faulty and had to be changed.
