my car wont release my trunk with my remote nor with the button that on the pillar in the car. i put my ear on the trunk and press the button from the remote and i hear light clicking but nothing happens. does this mean its stuck? how can i fix it?

 

I'm having a similar problem. My release for my remote works, but for some reason my button on my pilar is stuck in. I've tried everything to get it to pop back out, but it won't. Any suggestions that you give john may help me too.

 

Yeah Im having the same thing occuring right now as well. Nothing seems to work. I can hear the trunk unlocking but it doesn't seem to. When I get some free time im going to take the trunk trim out and look at the mechanism more closely.

 

My trunk lid on 2004 A6 is stuck too. Tried remote, the key, and the release button on the pillar and none of these open it. I hear the mechanism doing something every time I try to open, but the lock does not seem to release it.

Mine is like the opposite. I can open the trunk but when i close it it just doesnt stay down and i have to slam it everytime to close it.

 

Fortunately mine works, but suggest you try a good lubricant on the cable and locking mechanism and also check the cable to make sure it is not kinked or jammed. With the trunk open, you should be able to see whether the lock is releasing or "stuck".
