3rd Gear
Buy a K&N for $60 and install it yourself. Plugs are about $12-15 each. You can probably find someone to change your oil for $10-15 if you supply the filter and oil (Mobil1). If theysupply material, figure on about $100 due to markup. I had my indie do the cabin filter at the same time as the last oil change and it was less than $30.
Other than the K&N, I find it easier to let my local shop do the work and inspect the car at the same time. Find a reputable independent repair shop that specializes in or at least knows Audis.
What concerns me is that they are recommending the 40k tune-up at 167k - what about the rest of the intervals (at 20k each) and the timing belt change that should be done around 80-100k? Mine calls for brake fluid replacement at 80k and I did all the drive-train fluids at the same time I replaced the clutch and flywheel.

Best plan is to keep your synthetic oil changes up, do some preventative maintenance if you haven't already, and keep driving until something breaks or acts up.Then get on here and ask people how to fix whatever broke
