Default Turbos

So just a question if someone can answer that would be awesome.
1. Is the KO4 the only turbo upgrade for the 2.7 turbo?
1a. Is this the same turbo used by APR?

2. Can you find another turbo setup perhaps larger then the K04?

You dont want to go larger then K04, you will have to switch EVERYTHING. there is already a ton of work involved in going to K04.

Mac,

There are several turbo upgrades

There is the hybrid route. Where you take a ko3 rebuild it and put some ko4 parts in. Thisis a direct fit but ko3's are prone to blow and have several defects. There are a lot of turbo builder out there shat say this is the way to go but then you have the other builder out there that say it is a bad idea.

There is the standard ko4 replacement= the RS4 turbo from the 2.7T this is as far as I have seen the best most reliable and best hp turbo there is and the people claim that they are indestructible

Then there are the hybrid ko4's where people take the RS6 turbo parts (the RS6 turbo is a k04 turbo just bigger) and cram the parts into a S4 k04 turbo

Lastly there is the GT turbos garret big hp turbos. VAST performance made 700WHP on pump gas but this route you need to change several components.

In the end a ko3 hybrid will bolt right up with no need to change any thingmake a little more power but will be just like a ko3 turbo as far as relyabilty (it can blow at any time)

The RS4 ko4 would be my choice if I had a turbo car. You can bolt them right on and all you need to change is the inlet piping.

I strongly second that ko4's have proven to be the best for power and relyabilty. I bought a set just incase. I would not do the ko3 hybrid just seems like a ticking time bomb to me
