Default Turn signal fix

Some of you may have noticed that the turn signals stop working in the C5 audi a6. I was following this write up (AudiWorld Tech Articles) on the problem. While I had the thing in pieces on my desk I noticed WHY it stopped working.

When the relay gets current it gets magnetized and pulls a flap on it's side towards it, which completes the circuit (and makes the clicking noise).
The problem is that the small flap is able to go too far back so the relay can't pull it in with it's magnetic field. When it's in the "off" position it lays against a tiny rubber bumper.

You can stick something small down behind that bumper to adjust the gap. That way it can't go too far back, the magnetic field is able to pull it back and it starts working properly.
I just found this out and wanted to share this free fix with the audi community.

Hope you find this useful
