Hi everyone,

This is confusing me with my '96 A6.
Lights off, turn signals work
Lights on, turn signals don't work

Arrgghh! suggestions?

Thanks,

The switch assembly is bad -- You'll need to remove the steering wheel to change it.

Thanks. Not what I wanted to hear but, now on to searching for steering wheel removal instructions W/O setting off the air bag!

It's not hard -
There are two hex screws that you get to from the back side of the wheel - They are really tight. Just be careful to ground yourself before touching the wire.
After that it is straight forward job using a wheel puller and a few simple hand tools.

I got a used replacement switch from Force Five.
In fact I may have an old working switch someplace in the garge because I heard that the switch was prone to breaking. I'll have to look.
