Upgrading just the rear sway bar?
OK, so I have confirmed that the sport model sway bars I have are actually thicker than my 4.2 stock bars. Now I am not sure if I should swap both or just the rear. On other cars I know a heavier rear sway bar helped reduce understeer which the A6 has plenty of, but I am just not sure if this will have any negative effect on a quattro car. Any ideas?.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Adding a sway bar link kit would let you have that additional roll stiffness efficiently and also adjust the front to rear handling balance of the car..However, I am not sure if it would have any negative effects on a quattro.

on a car as heavy as the a6 it could only help. I am dying to upgrade my roll bars because the thing wallows like a hippo on the interstate. I would upgrade both of them if you can, improving the rear might make it handle weird because of chasis twist
Upgrading the rear alone will reduce understeer at the risk of going into the more "entertaining" oversteer condition. Since you have both bars, the only investment is time so have at it and report your results!
