Default Used vs. CPO

I'm potentially in the market for a 2014/15 A6, 3.0T ONLY.

Would like Sport package but not many CPO, and I tend to find them from other dealers or NON CPOed.

is there any reason for this?

Non CPO used A6s (even from a dealer) go for significantly less, on the order of 5-6000 less, and are no less pretty. That's cash in the bank for repairs in my opinion, or is owning one of these out of warranty a disaster?

i AM familiar with German cars, long time BMW guy, looking for something different.

Jus glooming for opinions, thank in advance.

I am a relative newbie, but purchased a MY2012 A6 3.0T from a private seller last year, who had purchased the vehicle as CPO from an Audi dealership. Owners of CPO vehicles can transfer that CPO warranty to any buyer, so long as the transfer fee is paid to Audi of America/Canada.

I might imagine that some private owners are not aware of this come selling time. I would suggest asking private sellers if they purchased the car as CPO themselves and/or had such warranty transferred to them. You might just find one in the market by asking.....
