Default vacuum advance?

Have a problem with '02 3.0 A6 avante: At 2900 rpm experiencing a sudden jump by some 200 revs to 3100 or so...feels like a downshift, but in tiptronic...doesn't happen under gradual exceleration, but when pushed it will happen most noticeably in 3rd through 5th...think it's timing advance kicking in? vacuum line? or transmission?...have a cheap code reader that notes no new codes and running systems check out...anyone?

doesnt sound like a big deal to me its acting on throttle response just like a manual would when you press the peddle, in tip your in auto mode that's why you wont feel anything ( kick down is what your referring to )

ok, thanks,...just so we're straight; in tip (that's when i feel it, under strong acceleration in tip), it is normal to kick down similar to when it's in full auto?
