Default wet,soaked passenger side floor

Hi everyone, Im new to the forum. Recently there was have been heavy rain and thanks to the dealer who did a recall service a month ago and did not put on the cover properly...
rain water found its way through the cabin filter into the passenger side floor front and back.

Anyway I had to have it towed to the shop as the engine would just shut off on its own, and when I put it on reverse I hear/feel a thump* and the car turns off soon after. also engine check light came on.

So I hear this is pretty common...

I was quoted $4000-4500 from a person recommended at audiworld forum for new carpets a new Trans control module and central lock module as both modules are under the carpet and are full of water.

Does that sound about right?

thanks,
kevin

around there sounds good, what im surprised is that you cant get the dealer to cover the charge to begin with since it is their fault it ever happened for not properly resealing or covering the car as you said,bc had they completed the job properly it would have never happened

Thanks for your response.
I didnt even bother calling the dealer. I figured they would deny it and id have no argument/proof.

The plenum drain may get plugged by leaves, ice, etc. This has happened to others, when the water passes through the fresh air intake to get inside the evaporator box and then to inside the car to the electronic control box.

call the dealer.. they have warrantys and guarantees on stuff like that, its rained before right? so why did this happend after the recall work? its not hard to find a way to blame it on them without evidence... also call audi of america and report their work.
and yeah 4000 sounds right, actually sounds kind of good.
