Default What is this in my arm rest?

I just pick up a new to me CPO '05 A6Q w/ 4.2L (40k miles) loaded up. Nav, cold weather package etc etc. Does not have AMI. Came across this thing in the arm rest that I have no idea what it is.

What is it for? Looks like a charging port or dock.

It accepts a few different adapters for cell phones and then act as a charger and direct connection between car and phone. In the 5 years I have owned the car I have always used bluetooth instead.

Thanks all. I've been using BT as well with my iphone. Works great except not syncing my contacts. I'm having to resort to manually entering a few favorites in the directory.

Upgrade the MMI software to 33.6 or higher and you will be able to sync the phone without a problem.
