Quick question for all of you...

Just bought a 2007 A4 2.0T a few months ago and the oil light came on the other day after 3,000 miles. I checked the oil and it was a little low, so I stopped by Autozone and picked up a quart of Castrol Syntec SAE 5w-30. Prior to going to the store I did a quick search online and it appeared that this was the correct oil, but after further research it appears I should have gotten the 5w-40, rather than the 5w-30. Will it really make a difference if I only used 1 quart of oil? I assume everything will be fine and when I get the oil changed in 2,500 miles I will just make sure they use the correct oil. Just figured I would double check with you all.

While I love non-synthetic Rotella-T for break in, that one meets 'cj-4' which i believe is diesel oil.

Mobil 1 5w-40 is not specified as an oil in production on mobil.com

You are referring to Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck, right?

 

Nope... there must still be stock left at Walmart. Thus the reason I said 'by several'.

However.. Mobil 0w-40 is the replacement and is on Audi/VW's approved list.
