wheels
just make sure you buy new rims and not any used rims from any of these sites. I have 19"s on my car after buying them from someone that had them on his A6. I kept them for 6 months and couldn't get rid of the vibration. Decided to buy new rims since I still had good tread on the tires. Bam!!! Car feels like I just rolled out the showroom. Go with the 19's as long as they are new. Love mine and wouldn't go back to 18's for nothing
I have a question, just purchased a '05 A-6, the car came with 16" wheels/ tires. Any idea HOW MUCH stiffer/harsher the ride would be if i go to 17"'s or 18"'s? I 'm looking to add chrome wheels, but if anyone has a good set of 17'/18" 's to sell i'd be interested in checking them out. In addition, do I have to have the computer re-calibrated, for the quattro to run correctly?
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
RedStorm,
The main thing about different size wheels is to insure the diameter of the tires are as close as possible to the diameter of your 16s. Other wise you may have trouble with your ABS & ESP. I don't know about the effect on quattro.
I just got an 07 4.2 S-line with 18's & 245/40 tires. You can also get 19s with 255/35 tires. I assume the diameter is close or they wouldn't offer it. Isn't the 05 a C6? if it is I think you can put 16, 17, 18 or 19s on it. You also need to make sure the offset is correct.
I'm a newbie to Audi but I raced for many years& thosebasics applied there as well.

Davie, Have a friend that had the exact same thing on his'03, 3.0 and it looked very aggressive. Great Choice!
My '03, 4.2 came with 17"s and I put 5 Split Spoke TSW, 18"s on it with 255/40s. The ride is still smooth but grabs the road like it's running on rails....

The link is to a thread I started for those looking for wheels. Since the wheels the subject of that thread are OEM, you should have no issues w/proper fit. I am unsure if they are still available as it has been a few weeks.
