Woa Look at my Camshaft!!!!!
Purchased a car with the thoughts that I would need to do a timing job but look what I discovered on the cam when I pulled off the valve cover!.
look like the lifter is gone and the cam destroyed it while destroying it self as well. I nervouse to replace the cam and lifter only and retime it because I don't know the condition of the valve. Has anyone ever had this happen before and checked the valve. Surely this had to be a defective lifter from the start. THe car still ran and drove just would idle rough and die sometimes but always would recrank and run with epc on after.

Im not concerned with the valve face more the valve shaft itself if its bent or stuck. I read about a problem known with the "follower" I have always called these a lifter is the follower and the lifter the same thing in another term?

Yes it's the 3.0 thanks for that pm I read both threads and seems that most people dont have a bent valve problem and they just replace the lifters and the cam. THanks for taking the tiem to show me that. Guess what my wifes gettting for xmas lmao.
