Default Wobble when braking, only sometimes.

1998 A6 Quattro, 30V 178K

I have all new brake pads a rotors on my car and they work great. Over the weekend I started to get some wobble or shuddering when braking at freeway speeds. I don't think it is the pad or rotors as they are fairly new. 3 months on the front, 1 year on the back.

Is part of the steering loose, or part of the suspension? I checked the tie rods and there is no play in the wheel.

Any help would be great.

I would have to ask. Where did you get the brake rotors from? Autozone's China's finest? Or were they a good quality German made brake rotor?
Also was the hub cleaned of any rust or debris or were the rotors thrown over the hub without cleaning?
I would start with one or both of those items first.
It is also possible for a brake caliper sticking causing excessive heat , warping the new brake rotors.

ohh boy, I still have the wobble when I need to brake harder than an old guy would. I changed rotors (zimmerman) with brakes - slight improvement, but eventually returned to what it was..
Now I just finished all front control arms, front driveshafts, all 4 struts, 4 new michelin tires roadforce balanced and I still have the wobble when I brake hard, and I just had an alignment at the dealership, everything I did, helped with the wobble for a few days but it eventually returned to what it was originally..... UGHHHHH

could it be the wheel bearing inside the "wheel bearing housing"? is there a bearing in there? lol

HELP!

Badinstincs , did you clean off your hub?
Might want to removed the front rotors & dial indicate the the front hubs. Could have a bent hub or rusty crud on it causing the rotor not to ride true.

I have not, the problem is I have the bigger calipers and those bolts on the back are hard to get off. Any advice?
