Default Won't start, turns over fine

Problem with my 99 A6 Avant, 2.8, auto, with 110K miles. Car was purchased as a CPO, then had an aftermarket warranty for 3 years, has been off any warranty for over a year but well maintained by a local independent shop.

I had the car towed in to the independent shop for this, they scanned and found 'no fault', fuel pressure ok, 'bad injectors ect' causing flooding, and insisted that there was an Audi TSB bulletin 'requiring' a full new set of injectors, plugs, coolant sensor, and oil change.

This seems like a rather extreme solution to the problem -- about $1200 worth -- something I would more expect at a dealer than an independent.

Are there other less expensive solutions for this problem. I'm obviously concerned about the ongoing cost of repairs.

thanks

Check the fuel pressure yourself. Test for spark. Your not getting fuel or spark one or the other. You need to figure that out and work your way to the problem.

Fuel filter ok?
Can you also get an Ignition Control Module from someone else and try it on your car?
