Acceleration Issue?
Hey everyone. About a month into my A7 prestige. Midnight blue with the sweetest interior ever. Car has been amazing so far but I have noticed what may seem to be an acceleration issue and was wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
From a dead stop it seems if you lightly step on the gas it does not always move the car. Basically it's a fast start or nothing at times. Then today I was trying to get in front of a vehicle at about 65mph and the same thing happened scaring the crap out of me. Almost as if the car stalled for a few seconds, then when I punched it I was then able to get acceleration.
Has anyone noticed this problem? Not sure if I should even try and explain this to the dealership.
Thank you

This phenomenon occurs because the transmission puts your normal starts into memory. To try to correct the problem, have the dealer reprogram the tranny to forget your original input and then you can reprogram by starting it a bit differently Hope this helps.

Sounds like an Audi dealer visit to sort out. I assume if your model has the optional engine/transmission settings (under car - settings) on the MMI. Comfort, Auto etc etc.
These settings can make a difference.
I have no acceleration issues on my new model (A7,245ps)2011.

same acceleration issue with my 2013 A7
I had my A7 for about 9 months. I noticed this issue almost from the outset. Took it to the dealer who "could not find anything wrong". Complained again when i took it in for its 5k maintenance. The service guy told me essentially to "stop driving like a wimp and accelerate like a man". Real useful answer, if you're on an open road. Occasional when coasting slowly, like in a parking lot, I'll even get a hard downshift. Friend of mine with a 2012 A7 has same acceleration issues.
I love this car and this is my only complaint with it. However, for a company that promotes its engineering prowess this seems like an embarrassment. Never had any kind of issue like this with my prior Acuras or Infinitis.
Has anyone got an official Audi diagnosis, and correction?
