06 A8 missfire n cam sensor codes p0341 n p0301
#11
I have a similar issue, hope you don't mind if I bust into the thread.
I'm throwing P0300 and P0341. Random Misfire and Bank 1 CPS.
I've already swapped out the Sensor for a good one, so that's not the issue.
The timing belt and Camp Tensioner in the Bank 1 head were replaced recently by a shop. (Long story as to why I'm doing it myself now)
Could this mean that the timing belt was put off a tooth on the Bank 1 side? Or is this an indication of the cam being off on that side?

If you don't have a Bentley manual (HIGHLY recommended as part of any tool box), your belt timing is checked with crank at TDC cylinder #5:
Crank here:

And cam alignment "keys" with large holes facing inwards ans all holes dead level...can check with straight edge:
Campulleys.jpg?t=1302905691
But more accurately with the proper cam lock tool:
CamlockT40005.jpg?t=1302905759
If belt timing is correct, under the valve cover, the chain sprockets must line up like this at the same point (TDC #5):

And thanks for the help.
I'm just waiting on the cam lock bar to come in and I'll knock this out. Hopefully it's just the timing belt being off and I don't have to pull the valve cover off and mess with the cam.
Cheers

oh ok, i havnt changed the CPS yet but i will sometime next week. You have a D3 right? If so have the dealer perform the recall on your coils as yet?

Good luck with your timing belt. Much easier than having to mess with buying new valve covers and everything else associated with that.
Cheers

Sorry for the late update I had some other stuff ive been taking care off. thanks for all the responses because they all help me solved my problems. The car had a full serice TB job done in Dec 2010 at Knops Audi in PA and it jumped time somehow it was a tooth off on bank 1 cam 1 which caused all the codes i was having which were :
18339 coolant fan J/293 malfunction p1931
cam position sensor G-40 not plausible-p0341
16884 random multiple missfire p0300
16685 cylinder 1 and 16687 cylinder 3 missfire
17538 fuel trim bank 2 to lean upper limit reach
p01130
18080 coolant fan control-1 p1672
17535 fuel trim bank 1 system too rich p1127 lower limit reached
16686 cylinder 2 missfire p0302
16814 catalyst bank 2
Knops Audi wanted me to tow the car back there for them to look at it which was understandable but i had left the car down in SC because i didnt want to drive it back and i was out of the country for a few weeks. The dealer was kind enough to go back in there and fix it for me for $580

Thanks for the update. Glad you got that sorted out.
Not too surprised to hear it was yet another dealer induced nightmare.
It's incredibly easy to get the timing right, if you just pay attention and follow instructions...BUT incredibly easy to get it wrong, if you're an incompetent boob with a piece of paper that says you aren't.
P.S. It is a physical impossibility for this engine, correctly serviced, to "jump time"...did NOT happen...I guarantee it! THEY screwed up.
If the same dealer corrected it, they screwed you AGAIN if they charged you to fix what they did wrong.
I'd be demanding compensation...and wouldn't shut up till I got it, esp if they didn't kiss me first
