Default 2000 A8L with P1141 code

Anybody have any experience with a P1141 code? Anybody know what the most common fix for this is?

Thanks!

Load Calculation Cross Check Range/Performance

Thats a wierd code, have you tried erasing it and see if it comes back? Usually when you get a code like that it either has a bad ECM or bad MAF sensor.

Yes I reset the code and it came back on. Then it shut off and stayed off for a few days and now it just turned back on, but I haven't checked the code yet to confirm that it is the P1141 code. Will do that tonight. A few people I talked to thought my fuel pump might be starting to go out. What do you think of that? In the mean time I'm going to change the fuel filter and clean my MAF sensor contacts. Anything else I can do to pin point the problem?

Thanks for your reply.

Fuel pump? Possibly. Low fuel pressure or a bad fuel pump won't throw a fault code though, if the problem was a lack in fuel, it just wouldn't run, no faults would be stored. The MAF sensor is the highest possibility, and ECM is the next highest. The engine calculates load from the MAF sensor and then the O2 sensors, but if there was a problem with one of the oxygen sensors there would be a fault code, thats because its so well monitored. When a MAF sensor malfunctions (or it isn't within range) it can throw fault codes from load error data, all the way to ABS faults, its tied into everything.

You're on the right track, remove the MAF sensor and use MAF SENSOR CLEANER to get the wire element clean and see what you get.
