A6 or A8?
I can also vouch for the A6 and up interior qualities, primarilly the leather. The A4 comes with fake leather in the 4 cylinder model (or pleather LOL) and the V6 model comes with actual real leather, still no where near the same quality leather in an A6 or S4.
I'll share a little story about my 2000 S4 and a 2002 A8 in seat comparisons. I bought my S4 used, so the front leather seats were starting to crack from the sun and the original fat owner's ***. I ordered new front seats at about $600 a seat cover for full black leather W/O a new pad, those are pretty expensive seats and great quality leather. The next week another tech in the shop was doing an alignment on an A8, he got up in the car to turn the wheel and had a flat head screwdriver in his rear pocket, naturally he ripped the crap out of the leather.
The particular tech was going on vacation the next day so the job was given to me. The freaking leather seat cover had a price tag of $2,400! and you could definately feel the difference when it was in your hand. The leather was about twice as thick as my S4 seat, and it was softer. I remember the S4 being an *** and a half to stretch that thing over the stock seat while the A8 cover slipped on like butter, it was much more malleable.
If that kind of care is taken into the seats you know the interior trinkets are built better, i mean just look at the price tag!!
None of this really matters though, because you can't compare ANY audi interior to others like chevrolet or honda. An A3 interior is better than a brand new chevy corvette that costs twice as much.
Kind of like comparing a mens wearhouse suit to a custom tailored Armani, they both look good for a while, but one will just disintegrate after a while.

fair enough. that is probably true of the older ones. i'm thinking 03 and newer. but you're right, the hinges are better in the a8, especially in the center armrest, i'll give you that.
And i suppose the full leather makes a difference too over the seating surfaces.
the buttons and MMI pieces are the same though. and those wear too easily.
in the new 2011 A8, they're using machined aluminium for the buttons. that's a big difference.

yeah, the tt is still nice. but i personally think the aluminium around the vents on the tt and a3 looks a little cheap. it's clever how you turn them off that way though.
but these buttons on the a8 are sick -- there's even a beveled edge that is polished -- the button itself is brushed aluminium.
