Just finished my 10000 mile road trip in my a8 4.2 2004. Car ran like a champ with no problems, what a machine. Didn't burn a drop of oil and got 25.5 mpg .Very reasonable with 4 people luggage and average speed 70 mph.Can the d4 get any better?

 

That's great to hear. I made a few trips, nothing that dang long lol! Mine were about 700-800 miles total. Car ran perfectly, besides when parking or stopping at rest stop the air suspension made a charging noise, raising and re-filling the air in the suspension eventually re-leveling the car. Does it every once in a while, just a common thing.
