Agree. Not a lot for performance MODs for A8's. Good news is that, as far as engine mods go, the 4.2L V8 is fundamentally the same, rregardless of model. Has been for quite some time. If your's is a SWB the RS6 S/S exhaust fits without too many problems. S/S is expensive to mod. Tip-chips, engine chips for non-TT motors should all work, from ANY V8 model.

 

RS6 exhaust won't fit our car, it's two separate pipes. An S8 will.

Thanks, again, for the correction, Tony. I think I'll start PMing my answers to you before I post them, from now on. I should have included the tidbit of info that it was teh aftermarket company Stratmosphere's RS6 S/S exhaust that fits our car, not teh "factory" RS6 exhaust.

 

I'm kinda scared of changing exhaust cause I wanna keep it quiet inside the car any performance SS exhaust that stays quiet inside the car?I don't want the sound vibrating,had that before on my other cars and now I want peace for my ears

Check this link out for performance. I have one of their computer modules. I can't find where it lists a 97-99 A8 upgrades on the site, but I know they have (had) them because I have one in my car! It claims to give about 25-35hp but since the previous owner put it in, I never drove the car stock so I can't tell. However.. it combined with the Carbon FIber Air Filter by Carbonia and the K&N filter make the car hit hard!
