Default considering an A8

hey guys, looking at a 2005 A8 L, fully loaded 60k, for $25k...

good deal or no??

i was reading the posts and came across too many must do's before 80k miles, I never read or heard about stuff like that with S500's... can anyone suggest some pros and cons on an A8 vs S500?

thanks!

Over a year ago I paid 24k for my 50k miles fully loaded A8. So that price is a bit too much yes. I'd ask 22k if not lower

Maybe a bit high...maybe not (many have this general asking price...are they getting it? I dunno) depending on level of options, condition, wheels, etc...BUT:

As for comparison between A8 and S500....2 completely different animals...I've driven both.
Drive both...if you think they feel/act even similar, you might as well look at Caddy's and Buicks too. A8's are completely unique machines...even among other Audi's. Both cars are German, but beyond that you're comparing different modes of transport....apples to bagels.

These furums are packed full of everything you need to know about A8's. Have you researched actual scheduled maintenance or common problems with S500's? I haven't, but know lots of S & SL owners who are back at the dealer on a regular basis with expensive quality problems..not scheduled maintenance.

East coast: Its overpriced by a few grand.

West coast: Its right on target, there are a lot less A8's on this side of the country.

I just bought a 2007 A8 with 36K miles for $38K here in Boston. After comparing prices for the past few months at dealers and non-dealers I felt this was a good price for the vehicle. Good luck!
