Thanks, I don't even live on that side of the Mississippi...just takin advantage of toll free #'s.
After TozoM8 confirmed on Audi World that it required a new type seal to extend into the cut groove in the updated flange, I talked to the poster in that link again. He got back with the dealer where he bought the flange...sure enough, it did require a new type extended seal ($37) and he said the old end plate is the same.

 

Update:
The updated flange does indeed require new type end plate, to fit new seal that fits the updated flange...All 3 pieces required. Audi dealer told the guy wrong until his 3rd visit to the parts department...what a surprise, huh?

I was under the impression that the flange kit is not needed unless your flange is destroyed.

Is this correct or ?

The seal from ECS for $7 bucks is nice I hope it fits.

 

Normally just the seal.
That thread is about an upgraded version that is supposed to last much longer than the old design, which requires changing flange-seal-diff end plate...for a price$$$$

 

For the price of that new flange, i could replace the old seal at least 20 times.
