Question HELP!!! Sticky MMI Control Buttons

HELP!!!!

I have a 2006 A8L with sticky MMI control buttons. Every time I press certain buttons, they stick pretty bad and it's getting annoying as hell. I would like to take the panel off and try to clean the stickiness off, and am hoping someone would be able to tell me how to do so, or at least point me in the right direction.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!

P.S. It boggles my mind how the genius engineers decided to place the cupholders so conveniently close to the MMI control board. It's just an accident waiting to happen!!!!

I heard of one guy on audiworld doing this i believe his name is hennessy, but it would be great when you do it if you were to do a full writeup with pictures for people with this problem in the future.

use an air spray duster to get the big stuff from around the edges, then use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab or brush, and gently wipe around the buttons, pressing them in and out as you wipe. car is off while doing this.
