Default Sticky radio and climate control buttons

I have a 2000 A4 Quattro v6, it appears that someone spilled soda down the front of the console and some buttons are gummed up bad, does anyone have any ideas how to clean these. thanks.

I have sticky buttons, but I've had the dash apart, no sticky soda, don't know why they stick.

I've been trying to take mine out to clean it with these instructions, but I can't get past the radio removal part. Audi made it impossible to take out. Maybe I'll work on it tomorrow. Let me know how you make out with it.

wow two post two spots away from each other for the same thing. Wouldn't surprise me if it were fall or winter but in spring??? anyway you have to tear your entire center console apart to get it out and then remove the faceplate. check this post out https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=148278

don't tear it out.. get some q-tips and rubbing alcohol, and be real generous with the alcohol seeping it into all the cracks between the buttons. eventually it loosens the stuff up and you can move the buttons.

Same issue, no problem when its warm, but when its cold and moist out, they stick. Frequently working them frees them up some. shrug.

no tearing out required, on the top of the unit, there are to little clippy thingys (yeah, still working on car terminology), they look like they are about an inch in, i went in from the back and pushed them in (pulled out the radio too in my case). you should be able to get them with a small flathead screwdriver.

Mine was stuck "OFF" and it was 20 outside the other day... I smacked it with my fist and now the right side sits in about 1/4 inch
