Default How to remove side molding on 2004 A8

Hi All:

I need to replace the exterior chrome molding on the rear driver's side door. I purchased the part and now I need to know how to remove the existing one.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Hi:

Thanks for the response.

It is the chrome piece that is in the middle of the door. It looks like it is glued in place as I have tried pushing it out and it's not moving.

I believe that is clipped in, use a trim panel tool to pry it out. Do this with the door open and don't pry on painted surfaces of course. Work your way from the inside of the door the work your way down the strip. If you just get the new part of course you will see exactly how its mounted which is the easiest to do.
