Looking to buy 2005 A8 or VW CC
Hello All,
I'm sure that you all sick of newbies asking for help in buying cars
So here is my story, Recently I sold my 03 Passat V6 GLX 108k miles, and why did i sold it??? i think I'm still regretting that decision
I wanted a newer car,
So my options are 09 VW CC i like the style and everything about the car but they are not going for less than $22-23k for 2.0T Luxury Version
I found a Nice 05 Audi A8 on craigslist will go to check it out in person this saturday.
here is the link
2005 AUDI A8 -
A8 was always mine dream car, I'm turning over and looking at that cars everytime i see one passing by ( same with hot girls)
But I'm afraid that it will cost me arm and a leg, and reading opinions about the car people say that A8 are not reliable and too costly to maintain.
Please take a look at the link and tell me what do you think, What I should check on the car before buying it, I know that 04 wasnt the best year, but in 2005 audi fixed some of the problems with A8.
Thanks in Advance!!
Peter

2 things to consider for starts:
2 COMPLETELY different animals altogether...both nice for their own reasons. If you've never driven an A8, do that first before making any shopping direction decisions. People drive A8's because they love A8's..totally unique among all cars ans even among other Audi's and VW's...not because of "statistical" reliability ratings.
If you don't do your own mechanic work, an "older" A8 can drain your wallet at the dealer...NOT so if you DIY. I've driven one for 7 years, do my own work and has cost less to maintain than VW's I've owned.

True Silverd2!
I really love my D3, it's not the most affordable car to maintain, but it has a special feel and style of its own. I also dont see A8's a dime a dozen which makes this a unique vehicle. So far mine has been very reliable, almost 3 years now, just turned 100k. definitely not a Camry when I go to pay for maintenance.
