MMI-is there an alternative

My MMI unit (A8 '03 3.7) has crashed and I'm told a new one will cost 2k euro approx (I'm Dublin based). Are there any alternatives to the Audi MMI-hopefully Ipod compatible?

No way. Even if you managed to get a completely different system installed it would cost more than the MMI.
