Alternative to new top?
I have a 2002 TT convertible. Last week the window in the soft top fell out. I am not at all technical, but it looks like the window was in fabric that was somehow attached to the fabric top with an adhesive. The window was not broken, but one of the wires for the defroster did break.
Repair shop is telling me the only option is to replace the top at more than $2k. I have already replaced the AC for $1600, and I'm starting to not enjoy the car. I've had it for less than two years, driven it about 1k miles (it's a pleasure car obviously), and am annoyed b/c this shop did a pre-sale inspection, yet none of this came up.
Any thoughts for me....alternatives to replacing the top? Thanks in advance.
