Default New guy here, researching potential buys

Hello, New guy here trying to find a daddy super car (S8) wifey has an A4 and i love the cars... but im trying to stay under 7k cash... have been looking around for awhile now... if anyone know of anything with minor issues i can deal with i wouldnt have a problem with it... or one that runs and drives sine wouldnt hurt either haha.

Considering an A8 as well, but i'm in love with the S8.. so it would have to be a really good A8 for me to consider it. haha.

Please let me know of any leads or stuff i should look for, wouldn't mind 2000 and up models.

An S8 for under $7k? Yeah, and I'm looking to find the Hope Diamond on eBay, too...

$7k is a completely unrealistic price to look for one. Even if the car is pretty old with very high miles. You'll spend much much more spending and maintaining the car than your original $7k. If this is your budget I strongly suggest another car, yet another manufacturer sorry man

Maybe dial it down from an S8? There are lots of very nice V8 A6's in that ballpark.

Yeah, you might be able to score a 4.2L A6 for around 9K, beyond that forget about it.
Even if you found one to fix, like one with a broken transmission, it would cost just as much to fix as if you bought one without a problem.

Yea I hear you guys, I may have to up the budget and just wait a little longer (most are going for 10k)... I'm perfectly capable of modifying a A8 to look and perform like an S8 (I used to work on drag cars) but who really wants to go threw all the trouble of finding the parts.

That 6 speed swap looks very nice though.. any write-up's on that?
