Been lurking here for a few weeks and decided to post up. As of this Monday, I am the proud owner of a blue 01 a8 L. I will post some pics soon. [cool] I was wondering if anyone knows of a good source for OEM door clips and other mics interior parts.
Here is my wish list

• little black piece that attached the door latch to the interior door handle
• seat mem switch (drivers +passenger)
• gas door switch
• key fob
• interior screw - top door panel
• radio removal tool

I am planning on upgrading the sound system, any tips would be great. Radio code? [confused] I intend to bypass the stock amps with a jl 500/5, upgrade the front speakers and add a 12" sub. Keeping the stock radio for now but adding this - ipod, aux bluetooth thingy

 

Ok, it has been a couple of weeks now and I am totally in love with this car. In another life I was a huge MKII fan (had 4 of them) and the car the A8 replaced was a 98 deville...it is like my old GTI and the Deville had a baby

Thanks to Shine Racing Service in N. Attleboro, MA she is all uptodate on her shots and a clean bill of health. Looking to upgrade the audio system in the next week or so. Does anyone know how deep of a 5 1/4" driver will fit in the front doors? Any advice?

• upgraded the front woofers and tweeters
• RAAMat on the front doors
• debadged
• new tires - Kumho ASX stock size **yawn**
• ate rotors/akenono pads
• 35% tint
• full detail

Next Up:

• build sub box
• RAAMat trunk
• upgrade batt
• high amp alternator
• finish stereo

The new tires and brakes really made a huge difference. Going on 3 mos. ownership and still in love

 

Car looks great man - I'm leaning heavily at a B7 2.0T to replace my B5 but a friend has an identical A8L to yours and I really love the car. It's gonna be tough to make the call between the two cars when the time comes. Keep the pics coming especially when you do your sound system. Maybe even get pics of the process and create a DIY - there are very few of any type for the D2 cars.

 

As this is an old(ish) thread not sure if you got these issues resolved.
Check with AudiUSAparts for OEM - they provided all my fiddly trim pieces to get things back to normal.
I got the radio tools and fob from the dealer, and the trim tools from ECS Tuning.
