Default New Owner - Minor Issue

Hi,

I've just purchased a 2006 A8 (short version).
I love every (well almost every) aspect of the car, but I have one minor problem.

My windshield washers don't work, they make noise, but no fluid gets sprayed. Headlight ones work fine. I also filled the tank full. :-)
Everything else works fine, fortunatelly. I actually had an Audi dealership mechanic check it out before I bought it (from an independent dealership). I guess they just checked the comp. and it told them that the sprayers work fine..I mean they do..they seemingly do something (noise)..but no fluid...
It is not certified, but is still under 50k - is it something that the new car warranty for 50k would cover?

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Well the headlight washers and windshield washers use seperate pumps, so most likely it will leak fluid when you try to activate the windshield washer. Have someone look under the car (by the front bumper) when you activate the windshield washer. If they see water leaking out, you either have a leak, or the pump body is cracked. (common)
There isn't a computer for the washers, that was a load of crap, its a simple circuit.
If it is under the 50k mark then it will be covered by audi.

Indeed, you were correct.

Pump was faulty and there was also a leak in the line going to one of the headlights.

It was covered by the warranty.
Can't complain.

Thanks
