Default new owner and first minor problem

I recently purchased a 2001 180hp TT coup. I am impressed to say the least. This little car is smooth! The first thing I noticed though, is that I am leaking wiper fluid. I traced it to the passenger side headlamp jet area. After it retracts, it begins to leak profusely until I am out of fluid. Is there an easy way to get to this assembly without taking it to the stealership? Has anyone had this problem?

Mine had leaked also. Its just rubber hose and clamps and they can leak due to wear. If you dont mind taking off the front bumper you can access the problem and repair/replace the damaged area of hose.

Thanks. It turns out the nozzle on the head of the jet is missing. So, whenever it turns on it sprays like a garden hose. I'm going to assume the loss of pressure that results prevents the driver's side nozzle from poking out...

Is there a web site you folks use to order oem parts?

I had the same problem. It broke in the winter time. When I got my new bumper I just disconnected the squirters and pluged the hose so It just goes to the windshield. I might have the passenger squirter left. I;ll have to look though.

I'd appreciate it!!

Also, after reading the FAQ it appears like I should get this timing belt replaced. I have 54k miles on it and murphy's law states that it will break before the next 6k miles. I don't have the tools/knowledge to do it on my own. How much do you think it will cost to get done at the dealer?

dealer will cost $1000-1200. if you get a tb kit from deiselgeek or ecstuning you can save some money by having a shop do it for less.
