Default Oil Leak From 2.8

Can anyone give me an indication of what might be wrong. I've got a 2001 2.8ltr A8 that stinks of burning oil. The car has done 67K miles

Engine oil seems to be dripping (slowly) from fairly high up in the engine,(left hand side when viewed from the front)and onto the exhaust manifold. Could this be a camshaft seal

I've booked it into my local Audi dealership, but am now worrying about how much cash I might have to spend to get it fixed.

The oil that's being lost is very small, it's just the smell that's awful and of course the smoke coming from under the bonnet when ever the car stops

Would appreciate any guidance and thoughts

Thanks

Andrew

different engine (mines a 4.2), but, I had teh same problem. after two months of searching with teh engine hot AND cold, I finally determined it was teh rear breather hose. I'd locate and check those, if it were me

Most cases it a vavle cover or cam tensioner gaskets, not sure if the 2.8L in europe is the same as the 2.8L here in the states on the A4 and A6.
