I'm leaving for the Army in 3 weeks and when I get out of basic I'm buying an 98 Audi A8 4.2V8 Quattro. Or planning to unless I find something horrible about this car. I looked at hundreds of cars and this is the one I want. Its got class, luxury and a powerful 4.2 V8. The v8s really what did it. Oh and the select stick. But I know nothing about this car spec wise. Can you guys tell me 0-60 time, hp, info about the select stick etc.. Yeah it was this one or the older quattro coupe. Thanks Bill B!

 

Read the stickys at the top of the page. Just make sure the transmission shifts well and goes into the reverse without any problems. If or when you buy it have the transmission fluid changed ASAP and you should be ok.
As for the 0-60 times you can easilly google all of those specs, considering the entire body of the A8 is alumnium its pretty quick. Power is around 300HP, 320HP if you get it chipped. The "select stick" is called a tip tronic transmission which basically lets you shift through the gears yourself or you can put it in D and let the car shift for you. The tip is pretty sloppy in the older cars though.
