I currently own a silver A8L originally optioned with factory S8 wheels.

I am alwys interested in increasing HP without risking reliability or violating warranty/extended warranty rules. Can anyone suggest improvements to intake and exhaust which would fit my needs? Is there a higher flow air filter or cold air system available for the A8 or specific to the 4.2 motor? Is there an aftermarket exhaust system or muffler(s) which are applicable? I am not interested in big mouth style single outlet mufflers as worn by many modified Japanese imports. I also am not looking for obnoxious sound. In the past I have elimianted rear mufflers or resonators with positive effect. Given the muffling accomplished by cats and mufflers under the drivers compartment this has produced a less restrictive exhaust system with a pleasant increase in sound. Does anyone know if this solution would be applicable to my A8L?

I dont think you can boost HP without violating you warranty. I have the same car with the same problem.
