Hi All, Not sure this is the best thread, but just wanted to say a quick "hello". I just bought an 2005 A8 from an Audi dealer in north Dallas. The car had 105k miles, but it in excellent condition. Carfax says only two owners and contains most of the service history. The Audi service shop suggested changing the timing belt which is being replaced at an independent shop this week.

Get the T-Belt service out of the way and then drive the tires off of it!

...and, yes, if the T-belt service hasn't been performed yet, I'd get it done ASAP, as you're 30K miles past the service interval.

Hey, I saw that car over there. Cant believe the belt hasnt been done yet at that mileage. I got a quote from auto hans in addison and they said 800 for labor, and the kit is $489 online. Not too bad.

 

I factored the t belt replacement cost into the vehicle price when negotiating the price. The spark plugs are getting replaced too.
