Weird Noise from Suspension
I got a 2004 Audi A8L and every time I go over a bump you can hear a weird plastic rubbing sound coming from what I think is the front wheel well? Any clues on what this might be? There is plenty of clearance as i only am riding 18inch OEM wheels so I don't think it has to do with the wheel rubbing.

Put the car in service or jack mode, then lift the front end up with a jack. Use a flash light and look at your upper control arm bushings, i bet you they are toast. The maximum life on these is 50k. Once they go, the upper links will flop around like a fish which will bang into the strut housing.

Thats what I was thinking but when I first bought the car a month ago i took it in to Audi to have it looked over and see if there was anything I had to do, they said nothing about the bushings, and the sound has been their forever. Are the Audi guys in my area that bad they couldn't see a toasted bushing??? Well anyways thanks u so much for your insight and im jacking the car up now to take a look.

It wouldn't be the first time, a lot of dealer techs aren't up to par in the brains department. Ask the dealership to have the shop forman to look at it, he is the one with the experience. If he can't figure it out, then don't take your car to that dealer. It should be easy to find. If it isn't, then its inside the strut/airspring assembly.
