Default weird noise ... someone help

So yesterday the TT started making a very strange noise that I can't seem to figure out.

When I let off the gas, not only do I hear the DV (always have since i have an intake and intercooler), but then I hear what sounds almost like a SECOND DV on the passenger side of the vehicle (possibly coming from the wheel well?). It sounds almost like a snake hissing, and it even does it when I'm under low boost and just backing out of the driveway... and then sometimes when I'm just in fifth gear cruising around. I was thinking it could be one of the intercooler pipes coming lose, but I didn't see much. Sounds like a boost leak to me, but I have no clue where it could be at ... and it's only getting progressively louder.

What it truly sounds like, is there's a plastic bag stuck to the side of the car ... or something underneath the car that's scraping...but there isn't.

Any help would be much appreciated.

do you have a boost gauge to monitor boost?

pressure tester (and soapy water) is your friend. this is as basic as it gets, anyone can build one. my friend has this, but with a valve stem from an old rim instead of a disconnect.

Naw, no boost gauge yet unfortunately. That's on my list of things I NEED.

I spoke with an Audi Tech today that I happened to bump into at AutoZone, and he told me that i could bring it by his shop and he'll do a smoke test for $85 and find the problem..

I guess we'll see what happens. I'm thinking maybe it's just a crack in one of the rubber L pipes that I'm still using.

by the way, is it normal for the DV to make a shuddering sound? PSH PSH PSH ... versus PSSHHH ...

I'm thinking I might have a faulty DV as well.

And for further info, I have the P1136 code, system too lean, bank 1. These codes are driving me absolutely insane.

Anyways. Is it normal for the DV to make that type of sound?

Maybe you missed this post...

Smoke test = bunch of money
Self test = very little money

Crack a beer and light up a cigar while you look for bubbles if you want a smoke test. I'm about to go pressure test my car. You should do it EVERY time you have to loosen/remove a boost hose on your car.

you had your chance... the same side inlet/outlet FMIC was recently sold =P

but it SURE does sound like a boost/vac leak to me. like said above, pressure test for sure since you dont have a boost gauge.

as for the DV noise, it'll sound more fluttery if you popped in an intake recently...
