Default What size multi spline torx bit for core support?

Does anyone know the size of the multi spline torx bit that holds the core support on an 05? Not sure what to order. M10, M12 or M14. There is one located on each side of the core support on the top. Thanks.

Don't have a D3 and no manual shows the size or type bolts...but (whether torx or triple-square) all are readily available, pretty cheap, at any Autozone-Advance-Napa-etc....

The size is a M12 12point torx bit for those that want to know. Why Audi made these the only two bolts on the car this way is beyond me. Everything else on the front is a standard torx bit.

Just to clarify, Auto Zone and Napa do not carry this type of torx. However, Lee Auto Parts does.

That fitting is called a "triple square" and generally you will only find them on drivetrain componets, engines, and small ones like on the ignition switch/ECM area.
I had to buy my set thru snap on, so stores like Sears usually don't carry them, you can get them from online stores like Northern tool supply etc.

I bought a set of triple squares (12 point) years ago at my local Napa...for inner CV's, brake caliper brackets, etc. ....and a full set of torx sockets (3/8 and 1/4) at my local Autozone a couple of years ago.
And I literally have THE only D2 in my entire county...I'm smack dab in the middle of Ford/GM/John Deere country. Someone stood right next to my car today and asked if it was a Saab!
