Hello all,

Does anyone have any suggestions as to fixing the following problem with my wheels - if you can tell in the picture below the paint is bubbling around all the lugnuts. This has progressed to all 4 wheels over the years. I think it's mostly a surface problem and not a rust through.

What car is this on? OEM wheels? Are the lug nuts rusting?

Similar style wheels on my A8 are forged light alloy...don't rust.

I have similar looking "bubbling" on some older VW alloys, but it's salt corrosion under the paint..not rust.
Only stripping (at least partially) and repainting will repair.

 

Yep - 2004 A8 - OEM. Didn't know if these can be painted or what brand to use.
