No, you can't use aftermarket system unless it says it will work with an MMI system. Its a fiber optic data loop, so any additions you make has to be coded into the master control modules just in order to see the addition. You need factory parts and factory installation with an A8. It would work on the A4 and A6 just fine.

What do I need to connect an Ipod to 2004 A8L?
I've been trying to search and search.. I want the easiest and cheapest way to connect an ipod to a 2004 Audi A8L. I don't want a FM solution either they never sound right I have that in my MB G500 and sounds bad.. Please help!!
